I decided it's time for a contest.
I've been thinking about this for a while, and I might as well get it posted now.
Contest Time!
Goal:
To create a bridge between the realms of literature and visual arts.
The Challenge:
Take on of my poems, doesn't have to be the whole thing, and create a piece of visual art of any form for it. At least one line from one of my poems must be included in the piece itself, as text (exempting sculpture etc, in which case the photo of the piece must contain the line). The line may be written in any way you like, but must be readable.
There also must be a link to the poem itself, (not to my profile page) in your description.
I don't expect a lot of response from this, since I'm not a "popular" artist, so deadline is when I receive a total of ten pieces or more from at least three artists. I will extend this by request.
There is no limit to the number of submissions.
Two divisions
First division: By Popular Vote
First place gets a minimum of 1 month gift subscription from me.
Second and Third place:
Art request of choice from me (note what art I am capable of doing by taking a look through my gallery).
Second division: Poet's Choice
Prizes same as above.
This is for pieces that I feel express what I was aiming for best in my verse.I will accept prize donations. I may also choose to increase the value of prizes at my own discretion, but they will not be decreased.
MUST BE NEW ART. No adapting old pieces to this.
If you must, go out and take the picture again.
Post any questions or links to submissions in this journal.

You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves."
